lyrics
The dark sea rises blow the ancient shell
Sure-hoofed the steed but so slick the trail
It rained through the night, the night night night
We ran through the night like a widening eye
This beast has a bite, a bite bite bite
It hides in the corner with its teeth so white
Appalling tongues lash and lap like waves
Suspicious whispers from an open grave
Recoil at the sight, the sight sight sight
Lament at the horrors in this land of blight
We reach for the light, the light light light
A crack in the pillar where the lightning strikes
How this crippled land shimmers deep inside
We are the heralds at the source of hidden light
Inwards we stride
We shall march as shades stretched among the dead
Paltry leaders in thrall to meager saints
Savagery thrives
Appalling tongues hide in the corner
Suspicious whispers, teeth with a bite
Crack in the grave, lighting the pillar
Reach for the darkness when the lightning strikes
How this crippled land shimmers deep inside
We are the heralds at the source of hidden light
Inwards we stride
Revealing the veil stretched between the worlds
Pull the curtain down into multiverse
Shadow ranks rise
We shall march as shades stretched among the dead
Paltry leaders in thrall to meager saints
Savagery thrives
Those who’ve seen us, they have known the way
The first step out, down towards escape
March through the night
never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu
An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
